Mr. Shafqat Munir, Research Fellow at BIPSS recently attended the seventh reunion of the Munich Young Leaders in Moscow, Russia. The Munich Young Leaders programme is a joint initiative of the Munich Security Conference and the Körber Foundation in Germany. Since 2009, it has invited promising young professionals and future decision-makers to attend the Munich Security Conference, giving them the opportunity to participate in the high-level debates and introduce fresh ideas. The alumni include ministers and senior officials in various countries. Munich Young Leaders include civil servants, young politicians, jouranlists, think tank analysts, academics NGO represenatives among others.
Mr. Munir joined 59 other Munich Young Leaders from various countries for the forum in Moscow. As part of the programme. Over the course of a few days they interacted with former ministers, senior government officials, think tank representatives on key issues facing Russia, Europe and the world as a whole. It may be mentioned that Mr. Munir is the first Munich Young Leader from Bangladesh. He attended the 53rd Munich Security Conference earlier this year.
