The conference was hosted by National University of Singapore (NUS), in association with Centre of Excellence in Policing and Security (CEPS), Australian National University (ANU), Griffith University and International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU).

BIPSS President Major General ANM Muniruzzaman, ndc, psc, (Retd.) was invited to deliver talk on asymmetrical security in an international conference in Singapore. The conference was hosted by National University of Singapore (NUS), in association with Centre of Excellence in Policing and Security (CEPS), Australian National University (ANU), Griffith University and International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU).
There is growing evidence that asymmetrical security threats have become a strategy choice among extremist political and terrorist groups. Asymmetrical combatants use covert and unconventional combat tactics and seek to avoid direct military encounters with the adversaries’ vastly superior armed forces.
General Munir in his talk emphasized on the ill preparedness of nation states against asymmetrical threats posed by terror outfits across the globe. The conference was also attended by prominent security experts from all around the world.
