A two member delegation from BIPSS attended the bi-annual conference of the Consortium of South Asian Think Tanks [COSATT]. The delegation was led by President BIPSS, Major General Muniruzzaman [Retd]. Supported by the Konrad Adeneur Stiftung [KAS] of Germany, the recent conference was centred on the theme ‘Deeper Integration for Peace and Prosperity’. The conference was hosted by Centre for South Asian Studies [CSAS], Nepal which also houses the secretariat of the consortium.
The BIPSS delegation made two presentations at the conference titled ‘Political Instability in Member States: Its Impact on the SAARC Process’ and ‘Countering Terrorism in South Asia – Towards a Regional Approach’. COSATT is a conglomeration of think tanks from SAARC member states and provides its policy input to the SAARC process. BIPSS is a founding member of the consortium.
