Bangladesh-India Relations @50: Vision for the Next 50

BIPSS recently partnered with the Centre for East and North East Regional Studies (CENERS-K) to host a webinar on ‘Bangladesh-India Relations @50: Vision for the Next 50’. The webinar boasted an excellent panel with experts from both India and Bangladesh deliberating on various aspects of the bilateral relationship. The Bangladeshi speakers comprised of President, BIPSS Maj. Gen. A N M Muniruzaaman, ndc psc (Retd), Research Fellow and Head of BCTR Mr. Shafqat Munir and Assistant Professor Parvez Karim Abbasi from East West UniversityThe Indian speakers consisted of President of CENERS-K and former Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC Regional Director (Asia) & Country Director (India) of Earth Day Network Mrs. Karuna Singh and Member of Ceners-K Governing Council Prof. Dr Suman K. Mookerjee. The deliberations centred around a shared vision for the bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and India, common challenges such as climate change and how to make optimum use of the the potential of the youth population in both countries going forward. The sessions were moderated by Consulting Editor of Prothom Alo (English) Ayesha Kabir, Former Associate Editor of the Daily Star Brig. Gen. Shahedul Anam Khan ndc, psc (Retd). and Research Director of CENERS-K Mr. Harsh V. Podder. The audience included scholars, retired senior military officers, diplomats, members of the media, members of the think tank community from both Bangladesh and India and students of universities among others.
