President BIPSS Maj Gen Muniruzzaman (Retd) was invited by the Commander of Sri Lanka Army as a Guest Speaker in the Colombo Defence Seminar 2018. This major defence policy/concept platform is a yearly event organised by Sri Lanka Army and is attended by Defence Ministers and delegations from around the world. The theme of the conference this year was ‘ Security in an Era of Disruptions’ and critical analysis was presented on different areas of disruptions like socio-political,technological, environmental and demographic disruptions.

The superbly organised conference provided an opportunity for bilateral discussions and networking. The host country also put up an excellent display of their history and culture by army cultural teams in the evening functions. The Defence Seminar was also attended by Mr. Shafqat Munir, Research Fellow, BIPSS.
