The Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies recently hosted a Lecture Club on “Navigating the Perfect Storm: Unpacking Bangladesh’s Economic Challenges.”
Moderated by Major General A N M Muniruzzaman, ndc, psc (Retd), President of BIPSS, he highlighted that Bangladesh, already facing longstanding economic challenges, now also faces a disrupted global supply chain, making LDC graduation a critical juncture for the country.
Dr. Fahmida Khatun, Executive Director of CPD, delivered the keynote, analyzing Bangladesh’s economic landscape, the opportunities and challenges of LDC graduation, and the underperformance of banks. She stressed the importance of mobilizing resources and ensuring their proper utilization to strengthen resilience and support sustainable growth.
The session concluded with an insightful discussion, where participants engaged with the speakers, sharing perspectives on navigating the country’s evolving economic challenges.
