
BIPSS President Talks Future Threats at NDC 2025
BIPSS President, Major General A N M Muniruzzaman, ndc, psc (Retd.), was invited as a Guest Speaker in the prestigious Capstone Course 2025/1 at the National Defence College (NDC), Dhaka to deliver a lecture on “Non-Traditional Security Threats for Bangladesh: Challenges and Ways Forward.”
The lecture explored the evolving landscape of non-traditional security (NTS) threats including climate change, cybersecurity vulnerabilities, transnational crime, human trafficking, energy and water insecurity, and public health crises. He emphasized that these challenges are not only transnational in nature but are deeply interconnected, requiring a shift from conventional security thinking to a more people-centered and regionally coordinated approach.
The session reinforced the importance of rethinking security beyond traditional paradigms and highlighted the need for strategic foresight, resilience-building, and innovative policy responses.
