President BIPSS, Maj Gen ANM Muniruzzaman (Retd) was invited as speaker at an international conference titled ‘Meeting the Challenges of Extremism by Advancing Human Security Centered Policies’ in Colombo.
An international conference titled ‘Meeting the Challenges of Extremism by Advancing Human Security Centered Policies’ was held in Colombo. The conference was organised by Near East and South Asia (NESA) Centre of US National Defence University (NDU) in Washington and Institute of National Security Studies Sri Lanka (INSSSL), a security think tank under the Ministry of Defence, Sri Lanka. It brought together experts and subject matter specialists on the issue.
General Muniruzzaman (Retd) was an invited speaker at the conference. In his talk he focused on the wider dimensions of human security specially touching on the linkages between human security and the process of radicalisation. It may be mentioned that BIPSS is part of the NESA Strategic Studies Network and General Muniruzzaman (Retd) is a Distinguished Fellow of the Institute of National Security Studies Sri Lanka (INSSSL).
