President BIPSS Attends the World Security Conference and Third Consultation on Alternative Futures for Afghanistan and Southwest Asia held in Brussels
In addition to attending the WSC 7 in Brussels, President BIPSS also participated in the Third Consultation on the Alternative Futures for Afghanistan and Southwest Asia. The event was organised by the East West Institute in conjunction with the Seventh Worldwide Security Conference and it brought together leaders from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, the EU, and the U.S. on February 17, 2010 to determine new strategies to ensure security in Afghanistan and its region. It may be mentioned here that this was the first time Bangladesh participated in this event. The role of Bangladesh in Afghanistan as an important and constructive stakeholder was elaborated by President BIPSS. This was part of a series of consultations that the East West Institute has been organising since 2009.dquo; in solving any bilateral problems to build an atmosphere of understandingacross the region.
