Ongoing Developments in Myanmar – An Update
BIPSS recently hosted an In-House Roundtable discussion on the topic ‘Ongoing Developments in Myanmar – An Update’ at BIPSS Office, Dhaka. The moderator of the in-house roundtable was Major General ANM Muniruzzaman, ndc, psc, (retd), President, BIPSS. The key-note presentation was given by Mr Paul Guerin, Senior Global Advisor, The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
Mr Paul gave an interesting and insightful presentation on the current ongoing conflict in Myanmar. He focused on the geographical, historical and domestic aspects of the conflict and also its geopolitical and future implications. The presentation was followed by an interactive session where the participants focused on the future of Myanmar military and how it might impact Bangladesh. The discussion was attended by former ambassadors, academics, representatives from international organizations and journalists.
