Colombo Security Conclave: A New Initiative in the Indian Ocean Region
” Colombo Security Conclave, a multi-lateral initiative, which was undertaken in November 2020, is a security dialogue between the National Security Advisors of Sri Lanka, India and Maldives. The conclave will help the nations build mutual trust towards strengthening their existing maritime security, preventing trafficking, counter-terrorism and cybersecurity with the inclusion of Bangladesh. The role of Bangladesh will have a key factor in shaping the dialogues in future.
Sharar Mahbub Dhrubo, Research Intern at BIPSS attempts to evaluate the impacts that may influence major stakeholders in shaping up the future of the Indian Ocean Region after the re-emergence of the security dialogue and the perspective of Bangladesh as one of the three latest inclusions.”
