Panel Discussion on ‘Indian Elections 2014: Implications for Bangladesh’ 2The Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS) organized a panel discussion on ‘Indian Elections 2014: Implications for Bangladesh’ on May 5, 2014 at Hotel Lake Castle, Dhaka. The expert panel comprised of Brigadier General Shahedul Anam Khan (Rtd.), Editor, Op-ed and Strategic Affairs, The Daily Star; Professor M Shahiduzzaman, Professor, Department of International Relations, University of Dhaka and Professor Piash Karim, Professor, Department of Economics and Social Science, BRAC University. The discussion was moderated by Major General (Rtd.) Muniruzzaman, President, BIPSS. The panelists spoke about India’s policy towards Bangladesh, alleged Bangladeshi immigration to India, agendas of the prime ministerial candidates, possible ramifications for Bangladesh after the elections in India among other issues.
