
Climate Security and Energy Resilience
Bangladesh Armed Forces and the Australian Defense Forces jointly hosted a seminar on ‘Climate Security and Energy Resilience”, with a special focus on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), as part of Indo-Pacific Endeavour (IPE) 2025. The event was organised by Bangladesh Air Force.
At the seminar, Major General A N M Muniruzzaman, ndc, psc (Retd), President of the Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS) and the Chairman of the Global Military Advisory on Climate Change (GMACCC), delivered a presentation as an expert guest speaker, presenting on; “From Vulnerability to Resilience: Energy Security in an Era of Climate Change.” He highlighted the nexus between climate change and energy security, emphasizing how energy infrastructure remain highly vulnerable to climate-induced risks. He emphasized the critical need for resilience-building through renewable energy transition, grid modernization, AI-driven energy efficiency and policy reforms.
Major General Muniruzzaman also stressed that safeguarding lives, livelihoods and long-term development requires urgent, coordinated global action. This seminar reflects the growing importance of defense cooperation in addressing non-traditional security challenges and advancing sustainable solutions in the Indo-Pacific region.
