Building Awareness Against Disinformation Among Youth | September 2024
The Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS), in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy’s (Public Diplomacy Section), recently organized a workshop titled “Building Awareness Against Disinformation Among Youth” at the American Center, U.S. Embassy. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Shahriar Kabir Tonmoy, Corporate Account Manager at Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd, and Mr. Nabib Bin Zahid, Research Assistant at BIPSS. The event saw active participation from university and college students, who engaged in thoughtful discussions and shared their perspectives on combating disinformation in the digital age.
The workshop featured highly interactive sessions, with students contributing valuable insights and suggestions on how to tackle the spread of disinformation, particularly through social media. It emphasized the importance of critical thinking and media literacy in identifying and countering false narratives.
